Nigerian woman abandons husband in jail, dumps their baby and moves in with another man

This 28-year-old lady allegedly abandoned her husband’s home, dumped their 2-year-old daughter in an orphanage and moved in with her another man, like her fourth husband in Abuja.

Police officers are working on figuring out why she did that, after a 34-year-old jail returnee, Paul Jubril reported that his wife, Blessing Ochonogor killed their daughter and fled to live with another man. This is quite sad! Read the details below:

The Sun gathered that they were living on Jaja Street, Kubwa area of Abuja, with their two kids before Paul went to jail for an unknown offence.

Upon his return from Suleja prison about two weeks ago, Paul, from Etsako, Edo State, discovered
that Blessing who hails from Benue state had fled their apartment with their two kids.

Paul said, “I went to Suleja prison. When I came back in January 2017, I couldn’t find my wife and two kids. It was later I heard that my daughter Ifeoma was at an orphanage home at Arab Road, Kubwa Abuja.”

While trying to consider what could have led Blessing to do what she did, Paul said, “I remember we had a misunderstanding in 2015 but I didn’t know she would pack out of the house with our two children, Peter Smith who is seven years old and Ifeoma who is two years and three months.”

Police findings show that after leaving her husband’s home, Blessing who had had two kids for two men before moving in with Paul, took her baby to an orphanage home where she lied to them that the baby’s parents had died

After dropping the baby at the orphanage, she was said to have moved in with another of her suitors as her fourth husband.

It was not long before the baby began to grow lean and sick. Efforts by the orphanage to treat the baby led to the discovery that she had been infected with HIV.

This prompted officials to search for ‘the good Samaritan’ who brought the baby. When the baby was eventually returned to her, it was almost too late as she died soon after.

“I have to report the case at Kubwa phase 4 police station Abuja. I didn’t believe that my child could die of HIV. When I was going to prison in December 2016 [just few weeks ago], my child was in good health. I don’t know why my child will die of HIV. I don’t have HIV, likewise, my seven years old son, Peter Smith. I want to know the cause of death of my child.

“My child is now at the mortuary at Kubwa General Hospital. Before I bury my child, I am still insisting to know what killed her. It is Blessing who is responsible for the death of my child”, the angry father lamented.

In her own account, Blessing Ochonogor told The Sun that she's not legally married to Paul, adding, “myself and Paul Jubril merely had boyfriend and girlfriend relationship.”

According to her: “Suddenly, I discovered I have got two children for him.”

While justifying why she had to move out of Paul’s home, she said, “Whenever I have a quarrel with my boyfriend, he used to beat me to a state of coma. When I couldn’t bear it anymore, I have to pack out from the house to sleep in an uncompleted building for three days.

“When I could not bear it, I took my child Ifeoma to the orphanage home at Arab Road, Kubwa Abuja. I deceived them that the parents of the child are dead. It’s true, I didn’t go there to check my child, and I went only once. Later [between December 2016 and January 2017], I went to marry another man.

“Suddenly, the orphanage home called me that the child I brought to them was ill. I refused to go there initially but later I went and took the child to Gwarimpa General Hospital and they diagnosed her of HIV and we were referred to the National Hospital but in the process the baby died on December 2016”, she added.

Pleading innocence on the death of the baby, she said:
“I never killed my child. It was frustration that prompted me to take the child to orphanage home. My Father and Mother are not living together. There is nobody I can handover my child to when I was in predicament. Since I am no longer with my boyfriend, he has threatened to kill me. Since the death of my child, my boyfriend has been accusing me of killing our child with HIV.
“It is not possible to kill my own daughter. When life is so difficult for me, I have to marry another man. My boyfriend didn’t give us rest of mind since he came back from prison...”

FCT Police Commissioner, Mohammed Mustapha told The Sun that his Command would urge both Paul and Blessing to settle their differences and bury the baby abandoned in the morgue.

Mark Zukerberg Expresses Concern About President Trump Deportation Plans

The U.S President’s plan to deport illegal immigrants from America is currently leading to a round of furore.
Mark Zukerberg has questioned President Donald Trump on his plans to deport illegal migrants across the United States.
The multi billioner stated that his great grand parents where from Germany, Austria and Poland. While his wife Priscilla, parents were refugee from China and Vietnam.
Below is the full story:
My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla’s parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that.
Like many of you, I’m concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump. We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat. Expanding the focus of law enforcement beyond people who are real threats would make all Americans less safe by diverting resources, while millions of undocumented folks who don’t pose a threat will live in fear of deportation.
We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help. That’s who we are. Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla’s family wouldn’t be here today.
That said, I was glad to hear President Trump say he’s going to “work something out” for Dreamers — immigrants who were brought to this country at a young age by their parents. Right now, 750,000 Dreamers benefit from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that allows them to live and work legally in the US. I hope the President and his team keep these protections in place, and over the next few weeks I’ll be working with our team at FWD.us to find ways we can help.
I’m also glad the President believes our country should continue to benefit from “people of great talent coming into the country.”
These issues are personal for me even beyond my family. A few years ago, I taught a class at a local middle school where some of my best students were undocumented.
They are our future too. We are a nation of immigrants, and we all benefit when the best and brightest from around the world can live, work and contribute here. I hope we find the courage and compassion to bring people together and make this world a better place for everyone.

Nigerian Governor Lost $10m to US-based Lover Exposed Online

A governor is reportedly in trouble with the security agencies after the sum of $10 million he diverted from the bailout funds allocated to his state was hijacked by his US-based lover.
A governor is under probe after the sum of $10 million he diverted from the bailout funds allocated to his state was hijacked by his mistress.
The governor was said to have commissioned his mistress to help him launder the said sum only for the latter to refuse to remit it in the slush accounts the governor provided.
Already, the money in question has been traced to a bank in the United States.
The Nation investigation revealed that the governor resorted to using his US-based mistress to stash the funds abroad in order to avoid monitoring by security agencies.
The cash was allegedly either wired or hauled in tranches in order to beat the nation’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
In spite of the governor’s tricks, however, security agencies were able to intercept the deal between him and his mistress.
It was gathered that the diversion of the looted $10 million by the mistress created an uproar that triggered the ongoing investigation of the deal between the love birds.
One of the sources involved in the probe said: “A governor from an oil-producing state is in soup and under probe by some security agencies.
“The governor seems to have been duped by his mistress who stays in Texas in the United States. The governor is worried after discovering that his girlfriend has defrauded him of $10 million.
“What started as a love affair and promises of good faith has turned sour. Yet the governor would not want his wife or the people of the state, who will be disappointed, to know about this ugly transaction.”
The security chief added: “Investigation so far indicated that the governor allegedly diverted part of the bailout funds meant for his state to the mistress.
“All relevant security agencies are already tracking how the cash was wired to the mistress as well as the whereabouts of the funds.
“Very soon, the details of the transaction will be revealed to Nigerians. This is why the government has decided to monitor how bailout funds and London-Paris loan refunds were spent.”
The Presidency in 2016 released the sum of N1. 266.44 trillion to 36 states within nine months.
The breakdown includes N713.70 billion special intervention funds to states and London Paris Club loan refunds of N522.74 billion.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had said 16 states were yet to disburse about N57, 663, 185, 735 of the bailout funds approved for them by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The agency also indicted some of the states for diverting the bailout funds which were meant for workers’ salaries.

Buhari Not Radical Enough To Solve Nigeria’s Problems – Balarebe Musa

The elder statesman who initially refused to comment on some national issues, in a telephone conversation with Saturday Vanguard lamented that President Buhari was not different from his predecessor.

He said: “The President is just like his predecessor and no fundamental difference.

They all believe in the system based on self interest first, while public interest comes after their own interest is served. He is not radical enough to deal with the situation in Nigeria”.
He accused the govern-ment of conceding its leading role in economy to the private sector as well as folding its arm while watching the private sector determine what goes on, adding that this will lead the country to nowhere.

According to him, “Let us decide first what is the root cause of the problem of the economy.

The root cause is the leading role of the private sector as opposed to the leading role of the state in the economy to ensure, peace, equality,  justice, dignity of the human person and the progressive development of the country.

Unless the leading role of the state is right, we cannot get things right.

“With our experience over the years, the only viable solution to the state of the nation is socialist reconstruction of Nigeria starting with the leading role of the state in the economy.

At the moment, the choice of the President and the Senate President is that the leading role of the economy is that of the Private sector which is wrong. As long as we continue with this, we will get no where”.

He advised the President to immediately embark on social reconstruction of Nigeria, taking the leading role in the economy and bring about a system that places public interest first above every other interest.

Customs Seizes 2 Helicopters At Lagos Airport, Hands Them Over To Air Force

The Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Command of Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, yesterday seized two Bell civil models l Helicopters which were imported into the country last year but remained unclaimed at the ware house of the Skyways Aviation Handling Company Limited ,SAHCOL, at the cargo section of the airport.

The two abandoned helicopters have therefore been handed over to the Nigerian Air Force to fight insurgency in the North East.

Confirming the seizure yesterday, the Customs Area Controller, Frank Allanah disclosed that the duty paid value of the two helicopters and other accessories was over N9,757,135,240.86.

He also said the helicopters were flown into the country as a consignment with Airway Bill Number 17232444403 through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

He added that the helicopters were detained at the Skyways Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) shed pending fulfilment of all legal requirements for the importation .

According to him, “upon examination, the consignment was found to contain two civil models 412 EP of serial numbers 36608 and 36606 Bell Helicopters respectively, in standard configuration and 23 packages said to contain their accessories weighing eleven thousand four hundred and seventy five kilogrammes ( 11,075 kg).”

“The unknown importer could not produce end user certificate from the office of the National Security Adviser ( NSA) an act which contravenes section 36 sub section two Customs and Excise Management Act (CEMA) laws of the federation of Nigeria  2004.

Consequently seizure was effected on November 7, 2016 in line with section 46 of CEMA.”

However, there are reports that the two Bell Helicopters were imported by Rivers State Government during the Rotimi Amaechi’s administration.

An official of SAHCOL, who does not want to be named, confirmed that the choppers were imported by Rivers State Government.

He also said Customs reserves the right to seize any aircraft or imported item if the importer fails to show up for clearance and payment of necessary duty on the consignment.

Donald Trump Bans Syrian Refugees Indefinitely From US, Other MUSLIM Nations

The reality of Donald Trump's hardline stance on immigration came into force last night when he ordered a four-month ban on all refugees entering the US.

The President also singled out refugees from Syria as barred from entering the country indefinitely, or until he himself decides they are allowed in.

No visas will be issued to immigrants from seven mainly-Muslim nations including Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for 90 days.

"I'm establishing new vetting measures to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America. Don't want them here," Trump said earlier on Friday at the Pentagon.

"We only want to admit those into our country who will support our country and love deeply our people," he said.

Trump claimed the move would keep America safer, despite evidence which shows none of the countries on the list have been the source of terror attacks on US soil since 9/11.

Having given no notice of the ban, it caused chaos for thousands of Arab-American families who already had family members en route to visit.

That Trump chose Holocaust Memorial Day to make the announcement was all the more upsetting for many Americans.

Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, said in a statement: "I am heartbroken that today President Trump is closing the door on children, mothers and father fleeing violence and war."

"I am heartbroken that Syrian refugee children, who have suffered through six years of war by no fault of their own, are singled out for discrimination."

Civil rights groups have condemned the order as harmful and discriminatory.

"Extreme vetting is just a euphemism for discriminating against Muslims," American Civil Liberties Union Executive Director Anthony Romero said in a statement.

The order temporarily suspends the United States' main refugee programme and halts visas being issued to citizens of several predominantly Muslim countries, including Iraq.

It is expected to affect two programs U.S. lawmakers created a few years after the 2003 invasion of Iraq to help the tens of thousands of Iraqis who risked their lives helping Americans.

Trump says the order is necessary to prevent Islamist militants from coming to the United States posing as refugees, but refugee advocacy groups say the lengthy screening of applicants by multiple U.S. agencies makes this fear unfounded.

Shocking! Female suicide bombers now strap babies to their backs - Nigerian Military

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, on Friday disclosed the new tactics being used by female suicide bombers in the North East in order to evade detection by security operatives. A statement issued by the acting director of defence information, Rabe Abubakar, said the attackers, usually teenage girls, now strap babies to their backs in order that security personnel may ordinarily pass them for innocent nursing mothers.

"The two recent suicide bomb attacks in Madagali, Adamawa State are instructive in this regard. The DHQ wishes to seize this opportunity to appeal to members of the public to be patient and cooperate with the military and other security agencies while carrying out thorough security search and checks as the essence is to nip in the bud the murderous intention of the Boko Haram suicide bombers,"  the statement read.
The defence spokesman also explained that “the usual traffic ‘go-slow’ at military and security check points as a result of rigorous security checks are not meant to cause public discomfort or a deliberate action to induce traffic disruptions on our roads, but an effort put in place towards protecting the lives and properties of our innocent citizens."

He urged members of the public to always "volunteer useful information to the military and other security agencies that would assist in exposing Boko Haram and their evil machinations in our society and to make our communities safe and secure for all to lives"
