Update! Berlin Christmas Market terror suspect killed in shoot-out with police in Milan ...photo

Anis Amri, the suspect in the Berlin Christmas market truck attack was killed in a shoot-out with police in a suburb of the Italian city of Milan on Friday. Anis, 24, killed 12 people and wounded dozens more in Monday's assault on a Christmas market, which has been claimed by the Islamic State jihadist group.

Italy's interior minister Marco Minniti told a press conference in Rome that Amri had been fatally shot after firing at police who had stopped his car for a routine identity check around 3:00 am (0200 GMT).

Identity checks had established "without a shadow of doubt" that the dead man was Amri, the minister said.
Amri had been missing since escaping after Monday's attack in central Berlin. He had links to Italy, having arrived in the country from his native Tunisia in 2011.

Shortly after his arrival in Italy he was sentenced to a four-year prison term for starting a fire in a refugee centre. He was released in 2015 and made his way to Germany.
German police said Amri steered the 40-tonne truck in the attack after finding his identity papers and fingerprints inside the cab, next to the body of its registered Polish driver who was killed with a gunshot to the head.

A Europe-wide wanted notice had offered a 100,000-euro ($104,000) reward for information leading to Amri's arrest.

In Tunisia, a brother of the fugitive had appealed to him to surrender and said: "If my brother is behind the attack, I say to him 'You dishonour us'."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Thursday she was "proud of how calmly most people reacted" to the country's deadliest attack in years.
Berlin public broadcaster RBB reported that police filmed Amri heading into a Berlin mosque on Tuesday - after the attack - at a time when the investigation was still focused on a Pakistani suspect who was later released.

Officials earlier revealed that Amri was a rejected asylum seeker with a history of crime, had spent years in an Italian jail and had long been known to German counter-terrorism agencies.
News weekly Der Spiegel reported that in wiretaps, Amri could be heard offering to carry out a suicide operation, but that his words were too vague for an arrest warrant.

Amri had been monitored since March, suspected of planning break-ins to raise cash for automatic weapons to carry out an attack - but the surveillance was stopped in September because Amri was mostly active as a small-time drug dealer.

On Thursday, Berliners flocked to the reopened Breitscheid square Christmas market that was targeted in Monday's carnage. The government has appealed for people to carry on as normal and not to give in to fear. Organisers dimmed festive lights and turned down the Christmas jingles as a mark of respect for those killed.

Victims were also honoured with candles, flowers, letters of condolence and signs reading "Love Not Hate". Among the dead were six Germans, 60-year-old Israeli Dalia Elyakim, and a young Italian woman called Fabrizia Di Lorenzo. Forty-eight others were injured.
On Friday, a memorial concert was planned at the iconic Brandenburg gate under the theme of "Together Berlin".

Saraki's aide reportedly missing after DSS officials ransacked his home in Abuja ...photo

President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and aide to Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Imo Ugochinyere, is reportedly missing after DSS officials raided his home. His friend and associate, Steve Uzoechi, raised alarm about his whereabouts via a post on Facebook. Read what he wrote below..
There is palpable fear for the life of Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and aide to Senate President, Bukola Saraki following an unwarranted Gestapo-styled raid of his private office at Suit 29b Shakir Plaza by the side of Assemblies of God's church, Area Eleven, Abuja, by armed men said to be operatives of the DSS.

Just like the case of the Judges, these security men, impeccable neighbourhood sources say gained access by PULLING DOWN THE OFFICE DOOR WITH SLEDGE HAMMER.

This is urging all relevant authorities, civil society organizations and men of goodwill to call for a stop to this reign of fear, terror and impunity as audible sound of physical assault and brutality of occupants of the office have been confirmed. According to sources, the raid and beating started since 2am and is still ongoing.

It will be recalled that earlier in the year Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere was detained for over a month by the DSS with no single offence or allegation named or levelled against him by the DSS. It is time to say NO to arbitrary arrests, intimidation and detention of persons that hold contrary views. It calls for urgent intervention.

THIS IS AN S. O. S.

Popular Port Harcourt gospel artist shot dead by unknown gunmen ...photo

Port Harcourt-based gospel artist, Godswill Adiks, popularly known as Will Adiks, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday night, December 21st.

According to PUO Report, the handsome Minister was ambushed by gunmen at the Rivers State Axis of the East-West Road while returning back from a programme in Benin, Edo State.

He was rushed to the University Of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital in Choba, where he was in coma for hours. On the evening of Thursday, December 22nd, he passed away. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

It was gathered that the gunmen had trailed his car, shot him at close range alongside his two guitarists, a case described as assassination. A tribute posted on Facebook, Jamy-Lee Pastor Jay, who said the deceased was her brother:
"I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and the day before that too. i think of you in silence, i often speak your name. all i have are memories and pictures in frame. your memory is a keepsake, from which i will never part. God has you in his arms. i have you in my heart. A thousand words won’t bring you back, I know because I’ve tried; neither will a thousand tears, I know because I’ve cried. If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, i’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. A voice from a family is gone , a voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in the home which never can be filled . I miss you Godwill . Could i just see you once again ? Have us sing together once again ? I dreamt of you last night you where so happy . I know your in a better place now . Singing and worshiping in heaven ..... till we meet again..... you said you would always have my back and protect me any way u can . I hope u keeping that promise now that your in heaven too . I Love You my brother Will Adiks . . You are forever in my heart and memories"

Another friend wrote on Facebook:
"September 6th 2013. The first time Will Adiks and I became friends... I saw him progress while I also help his ministry... I remember when he will come to me late at night in my church studio where I lived and beg me to burn some cds he will take to the place he was to perform the next day. God uplifted him and his songs grew to every length and breadth of south south and beyond. Last weekend while watching the performance of Travis Greene at the Experience 2016. I immediately wished that he will be given the opportunity at the next edition of the Experience to minister to hundred of thousands that will be in attendance. 13th December, 2016 was the last time we spoke on phone, I called him because the cab driver that was taking my wife and I home was playing some tracks from his album... I was even miming the songs to him, he laughed and said God bless you Joe. My dear friend Efe Dollar broke the news to me and I am so much in pains now. While discussing, I said, my prayer for him would be that he had reconcile with his maker before given up the ghost or If God knows he will go to the other side... then He should please by mercy resurrect him back and give him a second chance even though it was a gun incident because 'Adiks' as I fondly called him has inspire me and lots of people to even know HIM(GOD) better. Infact, I don't know what to write again. Adieu! my dear friend Adiks"

Update! Ibori supported Saraki & Dogara from Prison

A Senator who was once exposed by SR as having bought a property illegally, Peter Nwabaoshi, has claimed that ex-convict and ex-governor of Delta State, James Ibori, who was released from prison in the UK on Wednesday, supported Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara to emerge as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Reps, respectively.

Ibori, a PDP chieftain, was the governor of the state between 1999 and 2007, and very close to then President Yar'Adua government.

The Southwark Crown court had, on April 17, 2012, jailed Ibori for 13 years after he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of money laundering and stealing over $50million from the Delta State treasury.
But Senator Nwabaoshi (PDP, Delta North), who spoke at a UK home of the ex-convict after his release, was boastful of how Ibori wielded political influence despite being in the prison.
The Senator, in a 5.18 minute-long video that went viral on Thursday, said Ibori was instrumental to the selection of his successors in Delta State, while he also ensured that one of his children became a member of the state’s House of Assembly.

He said, “My name is distinguished Senator Nwabaoshi. I left Nigeria yesterday because of my boss. James Ibori is my brother, my boss and somebody I very well love.

“There are many people who have become governors and as soon as they leave the governorship seat, nobody remembers them again. There are many people, who have been governors and so many people, who served under them, can’t even remember them again.

“There are many people, by the grace of the Almighty God, who have had the opportunity to solve people’s problem people will not even come when they have this problem. But James is a good man; the man who made everybody and nobody made him. That is the truth. There are many people who have been governors who did not have the opportunity to make their successors, but James Ibori made his successors.

“There may never be a governor in Nigeria like this again, who will sit in the cell or prison and make a governor; and there may never be a governor again in the history of Nigeria who will sit in prison and make a Senator. There may never be a governor again in the country, who will sit in a cell and support the Senate President.

“There may never be a governor, who will sit in a prison, and make a Speaker (of the House of Representatives), and there may never be a governor, who will sit in a cell or prison, and make his daughter a member of the House of Assembly.

“There may never be any Nigerian man, who can pass through the tribulations you have passed through today and come out and everybody will be flying.

“When I was at the airport, a security agent came to me and said ‘I know you’re going (to the UK) because of James Ibori.’ I said ‘I am going because of James Ibori and there is nothing you can do to me. I have authority to travel. If you want crisis, we will create crisis at the airport today.”

Many Nigerians with conscience are still wondering why people from Delta State are celebrating a thief who actually pleaded guilty, not that anyone lied against him.

Update! Farewell to assassinated Russian Ambassador with kiss from his widow & red roses from President Putin

The assassinated Russian ambassador has been farewelled, with his widow kissing his forehead in an open casket as Vladimir Putin looked forlorn gazing at his dead friend.

Russia staged a sombre funeral ceremony today for Andrei Karlov at the Foreign Ministry building in Moscow where the slain envoy's body lay in an open casket in Russian Orthodox tradition.

President Putin was among mourners, including relatives and fellow diplomats laying flowers near Karlov's body in a ceremony in the marbled lobby of the looming Stalin-era skyscraper in central Moscow.

The normally tough-guy President was photographed looking heartbroken standing over the casket where he lay red roses.

Putin, who has said he knew Karlov personally and posthumously awarded him the highest military medal of Hero of Russia, paid his respects, briefly sitting beside the coffin and speaking to Karlov's widow.

Karlov's name was etched into a slab of pink marble on the wall of the foreign ministry building commemorating Russian diplomats killed in the line of duty.

Proceedings moved to Moscow's gold-domed Christ the Saviour Cathedral later on Thursday where the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, led a ceremony.

"He will go down in the history of the Fatherland," said Kirill.

The envoy was buried later on Thursday in a cemetery in a northern Moscow suburb with military honours, his coffin draped in the Russian flag.

The Russian ambassador to Turkey was shot dead in Ankara on Monday by a Turkish police officer who shouted "Allahu Akbar" and "Don't forget Aleppo".
