Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, was today abducted outside the home of President Buhari's nephew, Mamman Daura, on Inuwa Wada road in Kaduna.

According to reports, Hirse had gone to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki on kabiru road, few meters away from Inuwa Wada road.

As he tried to inquire why, one of the men raised his gun and fired into the air.

Omg! Baby found abandoned in carton and cries to death near a refuse dump in Akwa Ibom ...photo

Residents were thrown into shock over the death of a baby found abandoned in biscuit carton along Ikot Ekpene Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

The baby girl, neatly dressed and abandoned near a refuse dump, supposedly cried herself to death
According to reports, the unidentified baby became pale after a long period of crying, before passing out.

One of the witnesses said the mother might have abandoned the baby because she considered it a witch or she might have been driven by poverty.

"There are lot of children being thrown away like this in recent times because the mothers think they're witches or plagued by demon spirits or maybe for lack of what feed the children." the witness said.

Mr. Okon Isaac, who was on his way to a fuel station along Ikot Ekpene Road, said he heard the cry of a baby near the refuse bin.

"I have been here since 5:47 am. I wanted to buy fuel from Total, which only sells the product when available between the hours of 4 and 6:20am. After this time, they stop selling pretending not to have the product. As I was passing, I heard the cry of the baby. I began to wonder where the baby was crying from, but when I got close to the refuse bin, just off the road, I saw a baby girl neatly dressed and dumped in a biscuit carton," said Mr Okon.

"I could not go to Total in search of fuel again. I stayed behind to observe if the mother of the baby might change her mind and come back for the baby. And before long, people started to troop in as they heard the cry of the baby. As we live in a period of child theft and selling of children for money, people were scared to touch the baby. They all stood helpless, should anyone risk lifting the baby, and the police happen to be around, the individual can be accused of child theft, or whatever." He added.

The police, who confirmed the incident said they were aware of the situation and had contacted the Ministry of Environment for necessary action.
Meanwhile, until the baby died; neither the police nor officials of the Ministry of Environment were seen at the scene.

Update! Group wants Oshiomhole to reject N300m Mansion

Image result for images of Oshiomhole
A  group, Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, has called on former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, to turn down the N300m offered him and ex-Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Pius Odubu, for the acquisition of houses after their tenure in office.

According to the head of the anti-corruption group, Debo Adeniran, the retirement benefit of Oshiomhole and Odubu amended by Edo State House of Assembly is a “legislative scam.”

In a statement issued on Saturday, the group noted that other benefits attached to the amended retirement provisions included “pension for life at a rate equivalent to 100 per cent of their last annual salary, three vehicles to be bought by the state government which will be replaced every five years as well as free medical treatment for the governor and his immediate family.”

Adeniran said, “This is an opportunity for Oshiomhole to show the people of Edo state that he is a man of the people by rejecting the proposed retirement benefit being suggested by Edo State parliament. CACOL expects the former governor to reject the proposed benefits because of his history as a comrade who has fought against government policies aimed at sidelining the people from the benefits of development.

“We are also expecting the former governor and his deputy to show the people of Edo State and the country that they are noble and would not stoop so low to accrue to themselves the wealth of their state.”

Luxury cars imported by Governors and Ministers uncovered in Lagos

There are strong indications that influential Nigerians, including a serving governor and a minister, are among owners of about 1,500 exotic vehicles parked in the Volkswagen Yard, on the Mile 2-Badagry Expressway in Lagos since 2015.

Another governor from the South-East (name withheld) has also been identified as the owner of 15 Sports Utility Vehicles intercepted and impounded by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service and parked in the agency’s office in Ikeja.

The Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff, led by its Chairman, Hope Uzodinma, had visited the VON premises last week on oversight assignment when it discovered that the place looked deserted with disused equipment in its assembly plant.

The officials of the company, who earlier declined to open the store to the lawmakers for inspection, were forced to grant the visitors access into the warehouse when the lawmakers threatened to force the door open.

The senators, who were there in company with security operatives and officials of the NCS, saw no fewer than 1,500 pieces of various models of Volkswagen products and other brands of vehicles in the warehouse.

The senators were curious when they found out that there were port tags on the vehicles, indicating that they were imported.

One of the lawmakers told Punch that his colleagues were not convinced by the explanation offered by officials of the company that the firm did not abuse the current auto policy in Nigeria.

The senator added that the team discovered that about 15 Sports Utility Vehicles, on the premises of the NCS office in Ikeja, Lagos, which were impounded by the service when the dealer attempted to evade payment of duty, belonged to a serving governor in the South-East.

He said the vehicles carried Federal Government’s official number plates in an attempt to deceive officers of the customs service.

Uzodinma had alleged in an interview with journalists in Abuja that there were indications that the company was not assembling vehicles in Nigeria as it claimed.

He stated that his committee discovered different vehicle brands in the company’s warehouses which were already assembled before they were shipped to Nigeria.

The Managing Director of VON Automobiles, Mr. Tokunbo Aromolaran, however, refuted the Senate claim that the company was sabotaging the country’s economy.

Mr. Aromolaran said, “The Chairman of the Senate Committee, in company with about 30 people, comprising senators, officers of Nigeria Customs Service, journalists and police officers, descended on the VON premises on October 28, 2016, without prior notification.

“They were given free access to our plants and warehouses, and found nothing other than what you would expect to see in an auto assembly plant – an inventory of vehicles assembled, awaiting delivery.

“We also confirmed that applicable duties were paid at the ports when the components were imported into the country.

He said, “All applicable duties and levies on Volkswagen vehicles stored at VON have been paid to the NCS (SKD vehicle kits and fully built units). This can be verified by the service."

Senator Uzodinma however told Punch that the committee is convinced that VON was sabotaging the nation’s economy, adding that a public hearing would be organised to unravel all hidden details.

Nollywood actress, Ronke Odusanya reveals shocking reason she didn't marry Pasuma...

Ronke Odusanya - BellaNaija - October 2015002
Popularly known as Flakky Ididowo, but with real names as Ronke Odusanya, the actress has told Sunday Spice why her relationship with fuji act, Pasuma didn’t work it. Infact they were so in love that Pasuma said he was sure they would get married at the right time. Ronke who spoke about still being single explained her past relationship and why she still won’t rush into marriage.

Marriage
Being in the limelight has it disadvantages. One of the demerits of being in the limelight is that one finds it difficult to find true love. You can’t tell if that man or woman loves you for who you are or because you are a celebrity. I will get married when God says it is my time. My time has yet to come and that is why I am still single.  Anyone who rushes into marriage will definitely rush out, so I am taking my time. Unlike it was speculated sometime ago, I have never been married.

Pasuma and I
Not all relationships lead to marriage and such was my relationship with Pasuma. Even though we are no longer dating, we are still good friends. The fact that we are both celebrities may have been responsible for our inability to get married. A lot of times, celebrity marriages don’t work out because both parties are in the limelight. This breeds a lot of distrust and problems in the marriage.

Lobatan! EFCC hunts for Fayose’s sister over N200m Abuja mansion

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is looking for Mrs. Moji Ladeji, the sister of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over a N200m house located at 44 Osun Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, a highbrow area in the nation’s capital.

According to court documents, the building, which has since been sealed off by the EFCC, was allegedly bought by Fayose from proceeds of corrupt practices but the title documents of the house bear the name of Fayose’s sister, a move the commission claimed was to cover the governor’s track.

Detectives told our correspondent that Ladeji, who is based in the United Kingdom, would need to explain her role in the alleged scam.

A source in the EFCC stated, “We have been able to establish that the house was bought from the proceeds of corrupt practices. The house was, however, bought in the name of Fayose’s sister. We need to question her to determine her level of involvement.

“We know that she is based in the UK but she comes to Nigeria quite often. We want her to come and tell us her side of the story.”

Fayose had sued the EFCC for freezing his bank account following an allegation that he received N1.219bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser through a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, as well as kickbacks from state contractors.

However, in a counter-affidavit, deposed to by Mr. Tosin Owobo on behalf of the EFCC, the agency said Fayose used the N1.219bn as well as alleged kickbacks received from the Ekiti State Government contractors to buy houses in Abuja and Lagos.

The governor allegedly received kickbacks from about four Ekiti State Government contractors – Samchese Nigeria Limited, Tender Branch Concept Nigeria Limited, Hoff Concept Limited and Calibre Consulting Limited.

However, instead of receiving cash, the governor allegedly instructed the companies to buy houses for him in Lagos and Abuja.

The houses located on Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, are said to be worth about N1.1bn.

According to the EFCC, the houses were bought in the name of J. J. Technical, a company owned by Fayose and his wife, Feyisetan.

According to the EFCC, the houses in Abuja were bought with different names.

While the N200m house, located at 44 Osun Crescent, Abuja, was allegedly bought in the name of Fayose’s sister, another property, located on 32 Yedseram Street, Maitama, worth N270m, was bought in the name of a company.

The affidavit reads in part, “The applicant (Fayose) also used the name of one Mrs. Moji Ladeji (the applicant’s sister) to acquire a property situated at 44 Osun Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, from the proceeds of the alleged offences of receiving gratification and kickbacks.

“Apart from fraudulently retaining the sum of N1,219,490,000.00, being part of the N4,745,000,000.00, stolen from the treasury of the Federal Government through the Office of the National Security Adviser, the applicant (Fayose) has also received gratification in form of kickbacks from various contractors with the Ekiti State Government such as Samchese Nigeria Ltd., Tender Branch Concept Nig. Ltd., Hoff Concept Ltd. and Calibre Consulting Limited.”

Wow! See the world's shortest couple officially crowned by Guinness World Records in London ..photo

Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Hoshino were officially crowned the world's shortest couple in London Friday. The duo both hails from Brazil and have been verified at a combined height of 181.41 cm (71.42 in), becoming world record holders of shortest marries couple, back in September after tying the knot.

The couple who were measured by the officials of Guinness World Records In central London, Friday, had their record verified and confirmed at the GWR St Thomas's Hospital in central London.

A red carpet was rolled out for them as they posed in their wedding outfits for photographs in front of London landmark the Houses of Parliament.

Paula and Katyucia first met in 2006 through a social media platform called, 'Orkut'.

Speaking ahead of Friday’s celebration on the international record breaking day, Paulo said; 'I found her very beautiful from the first moment I saw her.’ But Katyucia didn't reciprocate Paulo’s love at first, she blocked him on the instant messaging site, before Paulo eventually won her heart afterwards.

According to guinnessworldrecords.com, they chatted online regularly for a couple of years before they first met in person on 20 December 2008. They began dating on 29 December
They maintained a long distance relationship for four years, managing to see each other every couple of months.
In January 2012, Katyucia decided to move from her hometown of Londrina to Paulo’s town, Itapeva. They did not need to live together long before they knew they were meant to be together.
Paulo, a civil servant for his local government, and Katyucia, beauty salon owner, receive a lot of attention for their height, and not all of it was good. They found that being together attracted more attention – but equally, being together gave them greater strength in dealing with the attention coming from the public.
According to Paulo’s birth records, he was unable to walk until he turned 21 years old.
In an attempt to be more independent, he used a child’s tricycle to aid his inability to walk in his late teens, and upgraded to a four-wheeler when he turned 20. Having learned to walk and following the fitting of orthopedic boots in 2008, he vowed to never use a child’s bike again – he then upgraded to a specially fitted out car which he still drives today. His colleagues know him as ‘Paulinho Gigante’ – Giant Paulo.
Speaking at the event Friday, Katyucia said:
“We are so happy to be a part of Guinness World Records Day and to have our unique record celebrated. We hope our new record will encourage the world to look past the physical differences in others and understand all people should be treated equally. We may be short but we have big hearts and lots of love for each other as well as everybody in our lives. Our life isn’t without its challenges but we are so happy we can tackle these challenges together.”
