Wow! This 55 yr old Oil Tycoon surprises teenage bride with a £830k Bentley...photo

A 55-year-old oil tycoon has bought his teenage model wife a luxury Bentley car as a surprise present. Valentin Romanov, head of the Singapore office of the state-owned Russian oil company Lukoil, married Elizaveta Adamenko, 18, in the French Cote d'Azur in July.

The stunning teen - who prefers to be called Liza - is pictured wearing white sunglasses and showing off her long legs on the bonnet of the white Bentley Continental GT V8.

The luxury car is worth about 10 million RUB (£830,000) but experts say the price in Singapore could be much higher due to high taxes on registering the vehicle.

The couple's controversial romance allegedly started more than three years ago after Miss Adamenko left her Siberian hometown of Kansk in central Russia's Krasnoyarsk Krai region.

Russian publication Prospekt Mira reported the pair had started dating when Miss Adamenko was 14.

The age of sexual consent in Russia, as well as in Singapore where the couple live, is 16 years.

But the fact that their relationship was potentially unlawful and could have ended in jail for Mr Romanov did not keep them apart.

In July this year they married at the Chateau Saint Jeannet, a famous castle and upmarket wedding venue, near the beautiful village of Vence on the French Riviera.

Pictures on social media show the young model who has posed for Vanity Fair, showing off the car, as well as with her husband at glamorous locations around the world.

A 70-year-old Moses Okon of Ikot Eyo Street, Calabar, Cross River State, is now cooling his feet at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, CIID, Police Headquarters, Calabar, over the rape of his best friend’s daughter, aged nine.

It was gathered that Mr. Okon, popularly known as Oyibo, and the victim’s father, one Mr. David Ekong, have been friends for more than a decade.

Vanguard learned that the victim (names withheld) had been living with Oyibo for some time with the approval of her father, who took custody of the victim after divorcing the mother. An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard that the relationship between Oyibo and his friend turned sour when he discovered that his best friend had been sleeping with his nine years old daughter.

The eyewitness added: “He has been doing it for long. The girl told us that Oyibo has done it three times to her. She said the last time, he gave her N20 and begged her not to tell anyone before pulling off her pants, closing her mouth with his hands and raping her.”

The suspect was earlier arrested by the State Housing Police Station and released, but after much pressure by Basic Rights Counsel, a child rights organisation, the matter is being handled directly by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ozi-Obeh Jimoh.

In a medical report Vanguard obtained, the victim was diagnosed to have been infected with Staphylococcus Aureus. “Patient in painful distress, yielded few growth of Staphylococcus aureus after 24 hours, walking funny, vulva inflammation, signs of obvious bruising, presence of semen in private part, hymen is broken,” the medical report read in part.

When contacted, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Jimoh, confirmed that they have arrested Okon and he will be charged to court today. His words: “It is true. A case like that was reported to us and the medical examination and report has proved that there was defilement. The man will be charged to court tomorrow (today).”

To celebrate the big win, Onyejekwe bought drinks for his friends and threw a party last Thursday and Friday. But he was later heard arguing with an unidentified person on the phone.

He told his some of friend around he was going to see the person, but never returned. His corpse was allegedly discovered the next day on one of the estates.

A resident, who did not want to be identified, told The Punch that the chairman of the estate called the attention of residents to the corpse on Saturday.

He said, “I was sipping tea around 7am when I heard the chairman blowing a whistle. I thought it was strange, but my wife called my attention to the surging crowd on the estate.

“I went downstairs and saw the corpse on the road. Like everybody, I was alarmed. We could not tell how the corpse got there or who he was. He had multiple stab injuries in the head. We all resolved that the case should be reported at the FESTAC Police Station.”

It was learnt that some of the victim’s friends later identified him.

The corpse was said to have been deposited in a morgue, while the police arrested and detained the chairman of the estate and his secretary. They were later released.

A source said, “The man won a lot of money in a lottery and from last Thursday to Friday, he was asking his friends to drink at his expense.

“He was called on the phone that Friday evening and he went to meet a man. I suspect that a gang stabbed him and used an object to hit him in the head. There were bruises on his knees and it appeared they dragged him on the floor as well.

“When the police were removing his corpse, blood was dripping from his mouth and nostrils. He was murdered in cold blood.”

A Nigerian who was deported from Kenya twice for drug trafficking has been arrested in Nairobi again. Emmanuel Peter Inobemhe was arrested in Obama estate in Eastlands on Wednesday by police after a tip off. He has since been handed over to Anti-Terror Police Unit for interrogation following claims he had been in touch with elements on the police radar over terrorism activities.

Kayole police boss Ali Nuno said he had realized Inobemhe had been deported twice from Kenya over drug issues and wondered how he managed to sneak back. “He says he used Namanga border on both occasions and that is what we want to know how and why. He had been deported in June 2013 before he sneaked back four months later,” said Nuno.

Nuno said Inobemhe was again deported in November 2013 after he was charged in court with drug trafficking and possession. It is not clear when he sneaked back again for the second time.

In September 2013, four months after his first deportation, Inobemhe was arrested in Nairobi’s Donholm alongside Virginia Wakini Wangeci for allegedly possessing 425 sachets of heroin with a market value of Sh85,000.

He was then also charged with being in the country illegally.  The suspect was produced in court Thursday where police asked for more time to investigate his activities.

Inobemhe was among a host of foreigners and specifically Nigerians who were deported from Kenya including Antony Chinedu over narcotics trafficking. The arrest came amid reports that a number of deportees had sneaked back into the country. An immigration official, Mr Edward Kabiu Njau was in September 2013 charged with allowing back prohibited immigrant Anaeke Chimenze, who was among the deportees.

A source told Punch that the brothel, popularly called 50-50 Bar, usually hosted men who came to meet prostitutes at night.

This woman tortured maid with hot plate and hot water in Lagos...

Police in Lagos  have arrested a woman for allegedly bathing her maid with hot water over a missing cell phone.

As at yesterday, the victim, Patricia Andrew, was undergoing treatment at Holy Family Hospital at 22 Road, Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos.

Vanguard gathered that the victim usually assisted the suspect, Mrs Franca Uba, in her shop located at ASPANDA Market along Lagos-Badagry Expressway, after finishing with her chores at the house in Festac Town.

Trouble started for the 18-year-old maid last Friday, following the disappearance of her madam’s phone in the shop. Attributing the loss to the maid’s negligence, the suspect was said to have beaten her on arriving home and then poured hot water on her.

On her way to the shop last Monday, neighbours noticed her burnt skin and demanded to know what happened.

One of them, who spoke with Vanguard, said: “She told us that her madam poured hot water on her last Friday. We were angry because she said she was not taken to the hospital.

“As she was leaving for the market she was crying. We had to report to policemen at Festac, who subsequently arrested Mrs Uba and took the girl to the hospital.”

Preliminary investigation showed that the Imo State-born suspect, took the teenager from her uncle.

Speaking with Vanguard from her hospital bed, the victim explained: “She did not tell me anything while at the shop.

But immediately I got home, she started beating me. “She dragged me into the bathroom, poured an antiseptic liquid into my eyes. While I was battling with the pains, she poured hot water on my face.”

She further lifted her skirt to reveal a scar which she said was caused by her madam. According to the maid, “I have been bearing all the pains and beatings because I have nowhere to go to.

During one of the beatings, she put a hot plate on the fire and placed in on my lap. “She left it there for a long time, which caused me to pass out. My offence was that I took N100 from her purse to buy food as I was hungry.” Police sources hinted that the woman would be charged to court.

Tragic! Teenager kills father and opens fire on schoolyard in South Carolina ...photos

A 14-year-old South Carolina boy shot and killed his father then drove to an elementary school playground where he shot and wounded two children and a teacher with a handgun before being tackled by a firefighter who held him till the police arrived, authorities said on Wednesday.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was accused by police of fatally shooting his 47-year-old father, Jeffrey DeWitt Osborne, then driving a pickup truck about 2 miles (3.2 km) to Townville Elementary School where he crashed into a fence surrounding the playground.
After the teenager began shooting, volunteer firefighter Jamie Brock pinned him down while staff led children to safety inside the building, Anderson County emergency services director Taylor Jones told a news conference. brock has been credited for saving the lives of everyone by tackling the suspect on time.
"(He) was there in the hot scene and risked his life to mitigate this incident," Jones said. "He just used enough force to take him to the ground."
Police arrived within seven minutes of a teacher calling 911 to take the suspect into custody at the school in Anderson County, near the Georgia state line about 100 miles (160 km) northeast of Atlanta. The shooter never entered the building, said Chief Deputy Keith Smith.
One of the victims, a 6 year old boy who was shot in the leg, remained in critical condition. The other boy and a female teacher were treated and released, said Ross Norton, a spokesman for AnMed Health Medical Center.

His grandmother said the suspect was home-schooled and that he had called he had called her while he cried but didn't understand what he was saying, so she went to visit her son, Osborne where she found him dead from a gunshot wound.
"She could not make out what he was saying because he was crying and upset and so they went to the house ... and that's when she discovered her son and called 911," coroner Greg Shore told a news conference on Wednesday night.
Immediately after the shooting, armed officers guarded students as they were evacuated from the school and taken by bus to a nearby church, local media said. Television images showed police swarming the school, with some officers on the roof while others moved around the building.

Ex-Naval Chief granted N100m bail over N600m Fraud...photo

Justice A. S. Umar of the FCT High Court sitting in Maitama on Wednesday granted bail to a former Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin, and two others for an offence bordering on criminal conspiracy brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Others are retired rear admirals, Bala Mshelia and Sheu Ahmadu.

They were arraigned alongside Harbour Bay International Limited by the anti-graft agency on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.

The former naval chiefs, whilst in office, allegedly bought a house worth N600million from the account of Naval Engineering Services without the said purchase contract being captured in the budget. The EFCC said that the documentation for transfer of ownership of the property was done such that a private company owned by the family of the first defendant (Vice Admiral Jubrin) became the buyer.

Justice Umar, after taking their pleas, adjourned to Wednesday for hearing on the bail application.
Moving the bail application at the resumed sitting, Mr. Jibrin’s counsel, Y. C. Maikyau, prayed the court to admit his client to bail pending trial. Mr. Maikyau argued that, “the offence for which the 1st defendant is charged is bailable by virtue of Section 42 (1) and (2) of the Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Act 2000.”

He further stated that the defendant is a retired Rear Admiral of the Nigeria Navy and former Chief of Naval Staff who voluntarily honoured the invitation of the EFCC and remained cooperative throughout the investigation leading to his charge.

According to him, Mr Jibrin complied with the conditions upon which he was granted bail by the EFCC and did not in any way interfere with the investigation.

On his part, Olatunji Salawu, who stood in for A. M. Kayode, representing Mr. Mshelia, urged the court to admit his client to bail on “a very liberal term”.

He pleaded that, the accused person if granted bail, would be available to stand his trial.

Similarly, Ahmadu’s counsel, A. G. Duku, aligned himself with the arguments of the other two counsels to seek bail for his client, adding that “the second defendant will not be able to adequately prepare his defence while in custody as the circumstances surrounding his charge occurred in the course of his obeying instructions of his superior”. Counsel to EFCC, Faruk Abdullahi, opposed the bail of the first and third accused (Jibrin and Ahmadu), while raising no objection to the second accused prayer.

He said Mr. Jibrin had the financial muscle and status to interfere with the prosecution witness if admitted to bail.

After listening to the arguments for and against the application, Justice Umar, who consolidated the three applications, ruled that the defendants were entitled to be granted bail as it was their constitutional right. He granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100 million each and two sureties each in like sum.

One of sureties must not be below salary grade level 16. The sureties must have landed properties within the jurisdiction of the court which must be verified by the registrar of the court and the EFCC.
The judge also ordered that the accused persons be remanded in the EFCC custody pending the fulfilment of their bail conditions.

The case has been adjourned to November 14 and 15 for commencement of trial.
